Everybody's Doing It

Got this from my most recent Daily Dose of Adam Green. Seemed like a decent way to piss away a spring break afternoon, so here goes:

1. Open your media player and set it to shuffle.
2. Post your favorite lyrics from the first 25 songs that play.
3. Put this in your journal, and see if people know what you’re listening to (song and artist).
4. NO CHEATING. Dont google the lyrics.

My list:

1: So we burned all our uniforms and let nature take its course again
2: It's good to get high and never come down, it's good to be king of your own little town
3: And even if the words don't sound right, I will love you 'till the day my heart dies
4: I'll build a house inside of you, I'll go in through the mouth - I'll draw three figures on your heart
5: When everything is lonely I can be my own best friend, get a coffee and a paper and have my own conversations - with the sidewalk and the pigeons and my window reflection, the mask I polish in the evening by the morning looks like shit
6: As fruit drops, flesh it sags, everything will fall right into place
7: Forget your lust for the rich man's gold, all that you need is in your soul
8: I hope your drunken daughters are gay, you are the shadow of fear
9: We all sing the songs of separation and watch our lives bleed out through our hands
10: Some are dying for a cause but that don't make it yours, and even the nights they could get better
11: The coast disappeared when the sea drowned the sun, and I knew no words to share it with anyone
12: Images are strong, impulses are strong, and logic will break your heart forever
13: Sometimes it seems that I don't have the skills to recollect the twists and turns of plot that turned us from lovers to friends - i'm thinking I should take that volume back up of the shelf and crack its weary spine and read to help remind myself
14: It was Don Delilo whiskey neat and a blinking midnight clock, speakers on a TV stand just a turntable to watch - only smoke came out our mouths on all those sweatshirt walks, and we were a stroke of luck
15: While the bright eyed choke on ambition and the old folks circle their graves, the young ones are busy destroying their graves and you're still just wasting away
16: I'm coming over but it never was enough, I've thought it through and my worst brings out the best in you
17: I watch the patchwork farms slow fade into the ocean's arms, and up here they can't see me stare, the stale taste of recycled air
18: In the wilderness, the only place to find freedom is in the dictionary, under "F"
19: And the power is out in the heart of man, take it from your heart and put it in your hand
20: Daryl couldn't talk at all, he wondered how the trees had come to be so tall, and he calculated all the height and width and density for insurance purposes
21: You held your camera like a bible, wishing so hard that it held some kind of truth
22: Pull the pins, save your grace, mark these words on his grave
23: I'm alot like you so please, hello, I'm here, I'm waiting - I think I'd be good for you and you would be good for me
24: What do you say to your enemies when you don't know what it was that could've come between you?
25: I hear if you make friends with Jesus Christ, you will get right up from that chaulk outline - and you'll get dolled up, and you'll dress in white, all to take your place in his chorus line

That took way too long.
Fire away!
