An Eventful Day

1000+ Hits!
Seriously, who's been refreshing this page over and over? 1000 hits for an insignificant blog in a little over 2 weeks is crazy. Keep it coming.

Changed my Desktop!

Isn't she purdy? The wallpaper is called "More Fun than Tekken," a great piece that I dug up at customize.org.

Deviant Art
I finally got around to signing up on Deviant Art and creating a profile after drawing the picture in the previous post.

Jon Stewart vs. CNN's Crossfire
If you haven't seen Jon Stewart completely verbally owning the hosts of CNN's Crossfire, you owe it to yourself to watch the video, or at least read the transcript. It takes balls to do something like this, and to be honest I'm pretty surprised that CNN allowed this to be aired. It's not like them to allow anything that questions their ethics to be shown. Watch and laugh as Republican douchbag Tucker Carlson turns into a whiny little bitch as Jon walks all over him.

The best part?

Tucker: You're a lot more fun on your show.
Jon: Yeah, well you know what's interesting? You're as big a dick on this show as any other show.

By the way, Jon's hilarious new book, "America: A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction," has been named book of the year.

Dimebag Darrel ( and 4 Others ) Shot Dead at Concert
Dimebag Darrel, a veritable heavy metal guitar legend since his days in Pantera, was shot dead yesterday at a Damageplan ( his newest band ) concert in Ohio. Apparently, some crazy motherfucker jumped on the stage and pumped a handful of bullets into Dime at point-blank range before opening fire on the crowd, killing 4 others.

You can read it more about it on MTV.com.

Now, don't get me a wrong, I'm not exactly a huge heavy metal fan anymore. But still, this news comes as quite a shock to me. For myself and countless of other teens growing up learning to play electric guitar, Darrel was a fucking idol. He was larger than life. He's been prominent in the heavy metal scene for decades and is pretty well known throughout the world.

I have to express my sincere condolences to Dime's many legions of fans and his family for this shocking and terrible tragedy. I especially feel for Vinnie Paul, Dime's brother and drummer for Pantera and Damageplan, who yesterday witnessed his brother's death on stage in what should have been just another routine concert.
